NTSB Factual Report

According to the written statement provided by the pilot, he was preparing to land on runway 22. While performing his checklist, he "pointed at the gear" and said "gear" and was certain he had already extended the landing gear. During the landing flare he felt the propellers impact the runway and immediately realized that the landing gear had not been extended prior to the landing. According to the Federal Aviation Administration inspector who traveled to the accident location, the airplane was damaged by a post impact fire. The pilot stated that there were no mechanical anomalies with the airplane prior to the accident. He elaborated and stated he did not hear the gear horn due to his use of headsets.

NTSB Probable Cause

The pilot's failure to extend the landing gear prior to landing.
