NTSB Factual Report

On November 12, 2001, at 1700 central standard time, an experimental Schenfield Acro Sport II, N90287, sustained substantial damage when it nosed over during landing roll. The 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight had departed a private grass airstrip at a neighboring farmstead located near Keosauqua, Iowa, at 1630, and was en route to the pilot's grass airstrip. The private pilot was not injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed.

The pilot reported, "Upon touchdown-over controlled nose elevation and applied brakes too hard-had prop strike and flipped plane on back."

NTSB Probable Cause

Aircraft control not maintained by pilot during landing.
