NTSB Factual Report

The pilot stated that prior to the flight he added air to the front tire, which was slightly deflated. The pilot reported that after takeoff he stayed in the traffic pattern and made three touch and go landing. He then departed the area for a 45 minute local flight. The pilot reported he returned to the airport and was landing on runway 22 when the accident occurred. The pilot stated that shortly after touchdown the plane started to veer to the right. The pilot stated that he attempted to use left rudder to compensate, but the airplane continued to veer right off the runway and into the grass. The pilot stated that the airplane came to rest in a ditch.

NTSB Probable Cause

The pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing roll. A factor associated with the accident was the ditch.
